Sold Out Book Fair Items

The following items are sold out at the book fair, but can be ordered.  The timeline for delivery is next week.

Book Fair Updates

Due to the volume of book fairs happening at the same time in our area, the debit/credit machine will not be available for this week's book fair at Sherwood School.

There is a credit card machine available that accepts VISA, Mastercard, and American Express. Signature and phone number of the cardholder will be taken.  The expiration date of the card must be valid.

Payment will also be accepted by cheque or cash. Checks are to be made out to Sherwood School.

The book fair will be open for families from 3:00 to 7:30 PM on Thursday and 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday.

Students will be purchasing during the school day on Wednesday and Thursday.

Not all books are physically at the fair, but can be ordered. Books that are ordered this week will arrive the following week.

Overdue Books

Currently, there are 250 overdue books from the Sherwood School Library. Please keep an eye out for any book that has the Sherwood Elementary School barcode on the back. That is the easiest way to tell if a book belongs here.

The last day to sign out books is Friday, June 7th.   All books are due back to the library by Friday, June 14th.

During the first week of June, notices to pay for or replace books will be sent home with students.  Fees will vary from $5 to $10 depending on the book. Replacement books must the same book or of similar type/genre.

Book Fair Results

Our third and final Scholastic Book Fair was a great success. Just over $4300 was collected in purchases while almost $4000 worth of items was given away in the buy 1 get 1 free event.

The Sherwood library also received $800 in new materials for our library.  

Thank you to volunteers Carol Fitzpatrick and John MacKinnon for helping out with our May book fair. Thanks as well to students in 4Z, 5B, and 6A for their help with the set up and clean up of the book fair.

BOGO Book Fair Listing & Purchasing Update

Check out this link to see all of the items available during our buy 1 get 1 free book fair.  While looking at the list, you can hold in the ctrl key and type f. From there a window will pop up for you to type in keywords for your search.

If an item is not at the fair or sold out, we can order it.  Delivery time will likely be May 17th (next week).

BOGO Book Fair May 6-9

Our final Scholastic book fair will be held from Monday, May 6 to Thursday, May 9th. This is a buy 1 get 1 free event on all items at the book fair. This includes books, posters, pens, etc... Typically, the items available during this fair are repeats from previous fairs along with a few new items. Students pay the highest price of the 2 items they would like to purchase and get the lower or equal value item for free. Students will be able to view the items that are available on May 6 & 7 with purchasing to follow on Wednesday, May 8th. The final time for purchasing will be on Thursday, May 9th until 10:15 AM.

March Book Fair Results

During our March book fair, just over $5000 in product was sold including almost $1000 using the new debit/credit card machine that was provided by Scholastic.  From those sales, we immediately put over $700 in books in to some home room classes. With the proceeds from the book fair, we have 4 boxes of books that will be added to the library in April.  Look for the best deals of the year at our final book fair from May 6-10 with the BOGO event, buy 1 book get 1 free for the same or lesser amount.

Any books that are not at the fair or are sold out can be ordered. 

Orders are placed on Friday, March 8th and typically the books are here by Thursday, March 15th.

Book fair purchasing times during interviews are Thursday, 3 PM - 7:30 PM and Friday, 9 AM-12 PM.

More New Books

Thanks to the generous support of our school families during our November book fair, we were able to add 45 English books to our library.   25 French books were added earlier in the month.

We have also ordered 120 books that will be added as they arrive from the distributor over the next 2-3 months.
