Virtual Book Fair

This year's fall book fair normally held in the library during Parent Teacher Interview week has been replaced by a virtual book fair.

The current plan is for it to be available for 2 weeks online. Families will be able to view, order, and purchase online. All purchased items will then be delivered to the shipping address of your choice.

Identifying Sherwood Library Books

There will be an opportunity in the future to return all Sherwood School Library books.  Here are some hints to help families identify them.

If you have a book from another PEI school, we can accept it and send it to the proper school.

Typically a Sherwood School Library book would have 3 things to help identify it. 

1.  A bar code with Sherwood Elementary School on the back of the book.

2. The spine label should have 349 on the bottom of it (that is the Sherwood School code for the province).

3. A stamp that shows Sherwood Elementary School or Sherwood School depending on the age of the book.

Sora Reading App

Sora (https://soraapp.com/welcome) is a new reading and listening app supported by the Prince Edward Island Department of Education. With Sora, students and staff can access a large collection of ebooks and audiobooks for independent, self-directed, or teacher-assigned reading. Students can read or listen to these books using a Chromebook, desktop computer, or personal mobile device at home.


Students will need their school login (@cloud.edu.pe.ca) to use it at home. When asked for their school, they search for the Prince Edward Island Department of Education. Students can also borrow from the Prince Edward Island Public Library system (some French titles). The books will be stored on their Sora account.

Sora operates like a library, there are only a certain amounts of copies of every book. Students are limited to sign out 3 books at a time. Try signing out 1 book at a time so others can use it.

During this fair, we do have a debit machine available for purchases.

We will be open for family purchasing on Thursday from 3 PM to 7:30 PM and again on Friday from 9 AM to 12 PM.
